25th Jubilee of Religious life: Sister Julie Macasieb

Sister Julie Macasieb, S.P., celebrated her 25th Jubilee of Religious life on December 8, 2018. The Mass was held at 5:00 p.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Parish, Caranglaan-Tebeng Road, Dagupan, Pangasinan, Philippines. The main celebrant was Dagupan-Lingayen Archbishop Socrates Villegas and five priests concelebrated including the parish priest, Father Mario Sanchez.

At the Eucharistic celebration, Sister Judith Desmarais, Provincial Superior of Mother Joseph Province gave the welcome address; Sister Lucila (Lucy) Vasquez, Sister Josefina (Josie) Ramac,  Sister Dalisay (Beth) Rayray  and  Sister Josefina (Josie) Lerios were readers; Sister Karin Dufault carried the wine at the offertory procession.  Sister Felma Cerezo took photos at this event. St. Michael the Archangel parish leaders, youth, Sister Julie’s relatives, friends, former co-workers from Manila, and women religious from the Archdiocese of Dagupan-Lingayen joined in the celebration.

The altar servers were numerous seminarians whom Father Mario teaches. The choir was composed of twenty-nine children of the parish. Sister Julie beautifully sang the Magnificat with the children for the Communion Meditation.

After the Mass, the celebration continued with a sumptuous supper for all the guests and  a program at a reception place named Kusina Nen Laki Digno along Caranglaan-Tebeng road. This venue is conveniently a stone-throw away from the parish church.

On the evening of December 7, the Sisters of Providence and the extended Cerezo family gathered at the Cerezo family house in Barangay Caloocan Norte, Binmaley, Pangasinan. A surprise program of dances, songs and wishes were offered in honor of Sister Julie. A special seafood meal culminated this  memorable night.
