March 8-14, 2024 – Catholic Women Religious Week

Catholic Women Religious Week is an initiative that began in 2015 as part of Women’s History Month in the United States. Since then, the idea of celebrating consecrated Catholic women has evolved; currently CWR (Communicators for Women Religious), a group of communicators working for Catholic women’s congregations, is responsible for the week which aims at highlighting Catholic women religious.

This year’s theme is: Celebrating Traditions, Changing the World. Several activities are available via social networks: retreats, meditations, conferences and more. Also planned are face-to-face activities, Eucharistic celebrations, marches for peace and justice, and more. (Learn more at https://catholicsistersweek.org/.)

The Congregation of the Sisters of Providence, through its Communications Office, is pleased to take part in this week whose aim is to highlight women who, through their own lives, are the voice of those seeking justice. An interview with Sister Serena Chappell, a Sister of Providence in temporary vows, will soon be available as part of these celebrations. Join us on this same platform.

“O Provident God, whom Émilie was fortunate to know, love and serve here below, may we follow her example and journey with you in this life, so that we may find you again and glorify you eternally.” *
