It was 99 years ago that Mother Bernarda was awarded a medal by the President of Chile

to acknowledge her contribution to the Chilean nation.

On June 27, 1925, the president of Chile, Don Arturo

Alessandri Palma celebrated Mother Bernarda Morin’s

boundless love for the poorest and most abandoned

of Chile, as well as her wisdom and courage in

he foundation of different charitable works

which this great religious woman carried out throughout her life.

For this purpose, the president awarded her the Medal of Merit,

which is the highest honor a foreign person can receive from the Chilean people,

in recognition of the extreme value of her work.
